If history repeats itself, the stock market is poised to end the year on a high note. CNBC has reported with a quote from Keith Lerner at Truist that 100% of the time since 1950 when stocks were up 20% or more through October, markets added to those gains in the last 2 months of the year. The average gain added to markets in November and December of those years averaged a 6.2% gain. While past performance is no indication of future returns, if this trend continues, there are vast opportunities for investors before the end of the year.
